Mommafied has hit the podcast circuit! Big thanks to JESS VON BANK, for our conversation on Leapgen’s Now of Work podcast! Jess is the Head of Marketing at Leapgen, a HR consulting firm focused on digital transformation. She’s also a Minneapolis mom with three girls, and a fierce advocate for amplifying the voices of working women.

During our honest podcast chat, we talk about the importance of working moms prioritizing wellness, while simultaneously navigating through a post-pandemic work world. Self-care is no longer a nicety. We explore how crucial it is for working moms who have trooped through the pandemic and are leading, navigating, and re-entering a recovering workforce.

"Covid-19 has been especially harmful for working mothers, who were already carrying a disproportionate burden of teacher, housekeeper, babysitter, therapist, and all kinds of second shift duties. Working moms are dropping out of the workforce at an alarming rate because THIS. JUST. ISN'T. WORKING," Jess says. "There are 35 million working women in the U.S.—9.8 million of those women are burned out. 9.8!" I add.

So, how can moms prioritize self-care while juggling hectic work and family schedules? We explore solutions that include parameter setting, being more conscious about how we show up at work, the type of work one can do, and using the power of voice to align oneself with a brand.

The big question is, if us working moms don't save ourselves, who else will?
